Lots to write about!

Braxton Miller ... Wow! How else can one describe Braxton Miller's finest game as a collegian? Wow! It's simple. It can be quite powerful. And it's accurate. Ohio State's freshman quarterback scored two touchdowns and threw a game-winning, 40-yard touchdown pass to freshman Devin Smith with 20 seconds to play to propel Ohio State to a 33-29 come-from-behind victory over No. 15 Wisconsin to keep alive the team's hopes of a Leaders Division title and a berth in the Big Ten championship game the first weekend of December in Indianapolis. Miller rushed for a career high 99 yards and passed for 89 on 7 for 12 passing for a career high total offense day of 188 yards.

Dan "Boom" Herron passed Pete Johnson, Lydell Ross, Jonathan Wells and Hopalong Cassady in the Wisconsin game to move into 13th-place at Ohio State with 2,468 career rush yards. He rushed for a season-high 160 yards off a career-high 33 carries and produced the first of at least a handful of memorable plays by Buckeyes on the first play of the second half. Trailing 7-3, Herron burst through a hole for a 57-yard gain. He followed with an 18-yard gain to the Wisconsin 1 and Braxton Miller took it in from there. Herron has 274 yards rushing in two games this season for a lights out 137.0 yards per game average and with a 4.9 yards per carry average.

Senior linebacker Andrew Sweat has had games with more tackles than the team-high eight he recorded in the win over Wisconsin, but he probably hasn't had two plays that were as large as two he produced in the fourth quarter. His first was stopping Montee Ball - with help from Etienne Sabino - a yard short of a first down on fourth down from the Ohio State 38 and the Buckeyes clinging to a 20-14 lead. And on the last play of the game he delivered, perhaps, the defensive play of the year to date for the Buckeyes: hitting quarterback Russell Wilson as he is throwing the football to cause an incompletion and enable Ohio State to capture its biggest win of the Luke Fickell era.

If this title has the look and feel of a fast auto parts store, that's because punter Ben Buchanan has all the tools of a precise, skilled mechanic. Don't simply look at Buchanan's average, because there's nothing sluggish about a 41.3 average (sixth in the Big Ten) and a team net average (37.7) that ranks fourth. Look, instead, at what Buchanan is doing with his punts. After dropping three of his six punts vs. UW inside the 20, including two more inside the 10, Buchanan ranks near the top nationally in both stats with 20 and 11, respectively. Equally impressive, he has just one touchback in 48 punts this season.

It's true: an unranked Ohio State team has defeated two consecutive ranked teams for the first time in school history ... Ohio State snapped Wisconsin's Big Ten record of consecutive games with 30 or more points at 10 games...Rather strange: eight games into the season and both Braxton Miller and Joe Bauserman have the same passing yardage total: 492 yards ... Even stranger: Saturday was only the second time since 1974 that Wisconsin came into Ohio Stadium ranked ... A running back - Boom Herron - is the current active team leader in career receptions with 36 despite not having caught a pass yet this year. TE Jake Stoneburner is next with 35 with FB Justin Boren (17) and TE Reid Fragel(13) and RB Jordan Hall (11) following. Devin Smith is the first receiver on the list, ranking right behind Hall with 10 receptions ... DeVier Posey will overtake all these totals combined when he returns vs. Penn State with his 124 career catches ... Herron has 186 career points, good for 20th on Ohio State's all-time charts. He is three touchdowns away from overtaking Ryan Pretorius (190), Michael Wiley (200) and Chic Harley (201).
